Slide One& Two
Good morning everyone, my topic is the cooperation between China and the U.S. could affect globally. Let’s talk about the relationship between these two countries first. The relationship between the U.S. and China is called bilateral relation. This relationship may be diplomatic or hostile. Their cultural, economic, and political factors influence both the relationship and the world.
Slide Three
The cooperation started in 1784 when the U.S was just established. The Empress of China arrived Guangzhou. They brought clothes, pepper, and ginseng to trade some silks, Chinese tea, and spice. The items had very great vogue in both countries so marine trade between China and USA started from then.

However, are China and America friends? After WWI, China declared against Japan. During that time, Chinese Civil War was also going on but this war turned into China and Japan fought against each other. Japan wanted Chinese to completely surrender so they made the “Rape of Nanjing” happened. After this, America and some other countries all decided to fight against Japan and this war is also called WWII. After America threw two atomic bombs, Japan surrendered unconditionally.

But are they really friends? America and the Soviet Union weren’t friends. During that time, the “Korea War” happened. America supported South Korea, China and the Soviet Union supported North Korea. This event made the relationship between China and America went cold. However, China and America fought against the Soviet Union and made the dissolution of the Soviet Union happened. Then the relationship rose again.
Slide Six
Although there were a couple divergences happened, the raising relationship lasts pretty long. The U.S. is China’s top trading partner and China is the second largest trading partner for the U.S. and both countries become major investors in each other.
Slide Seven
In the political and military area, the United States has been building alliance relations, based on shared values and tradition with the countries around China. Both countries face traditional and non- traditional security treats. Therefore, the “same boat spirit” should still apply to bilateral relations under President Trump.

There are more and more exchange students from China come to America to study. The students are changing how California funds its universities. There are also many home buyers from China come to America to buy houses and Hollywood desperate to please Chinese censors and moviegoers.
Slide Nine
Bok Kai Temple has become a patron deity of Marysville to many Chinese and Marysville is the only town in the nation where the tradition takes place. There are many Chinese from everywhere make the pilgrimage to the Bok Kai Temple to honor Bok Kai and some other divinities that dwell in the temple every year. There was an agriculture trade happened between Jiangsu and Yuba City. This trade formed the relationship between these two cities. Yuba City exported some food to Jiangsu for its demand and Jiangsu’s representatives hope to expand the market in Yuba City.

Slide Eleven
Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox are hard to take places in China. So they hope to build one church in China so more people can know about their faiths and this might raise China and America’s relationship because many people in the U.S. have their own believes.

Slide Thirteen
My suggestion for this relationship is to keep the cooperation going. Before any forward steps, leaders of both countries should look back of the experience to see what worked in this relation and what didn’t work. Second, China and America are leading source of foreign direct investment which means these two countries should develop a shared financing and investment framework for further cooperation.

Satisfied

The problem is not jobs are not all important but people are not satisfied with what they already have. No matter what jobs people have now, the society needs someone to be in position. Some positions need more people to cover but some not, just like the payment to every job is different. The rises of prices are all over the world. People work hard for living so the demand for money is more than before. People now will focus more on high payment jobs than those easy and cheap jobs.

Our lives can’t live without service industry. The people serve us at a restaurant, the front desk lady that check in for us, the people that work at a mall and look up right sizes of shoes for us, our teachers, and even our parents. Those who work at restaurants get daily tips and monthly payment, maybe teachers can get good payment but the demands for people are different, and money is never too much for anyone. So people want to get different or more jobs that provide more money.

Service industry usually doesn’t require high education level and easy to find jobs for those at school or graduated people. However people now are richer than before, they can be educated for better jobs than before which means people are no longer satisfied for the “low” payment. Who wants to be a general staff at Macy’s after graduate from UC Davis or UCLA? The demand of life is different than before, no one wants to work like a dog everyday and get still live in an apartment and die.
However, don’t consider this as a bad beginning, it might be a good start of world development. Just like hundreds years ago agriculture production is the most important work for everyone, then all the heavy industries came into the world, after that people finally started to focus on technology and electricity. Maybe the stores departments are not popular than before but the time of tourist industry is coming.

 

Just like what I said, people are richer than before, so more and more people are willing to pay more for enjoyments than before. So the hotel businesses, food and beverage service, airlines, and so on will rise up in the future and this is one of the reason why I am going to major in hotel management. Our society is like a giant food chain. Everyone knows one part fails, a group dies. But new things won’t happen if old things don’t go away. Macy’s stores generation is going away, many other stores are rising up. The decadent view of Macy’s will only be momentary, the future is worth waiting.

I don’t understand why Trump want to bring coal jobs back but maybe he has his own purpose for doing it. If it has good payment, I believe people will do it. After all, people are not satisfied in what they have now; they want something that they will get more money.

Adam Smithhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Adam Smith is the father of economics but only 50% of people in the world know him. He wrote two famous economy books that affect the world. One is “The Wealth of Nation” and another one is “The Theory of Moral Sentiments”. It’s easy to tell that the themes are different by only reading the titles. “The wealth of Nation” basically talks about how Adam Smith’s idea of how people’s selfishness can affect the economy system and another one talks about how morally should take place in economy. I’m also reading a book names “The Economics of Manipulation and Deception” that Adam Smith’s ideology is involved. This book points out the disadvantage of Adam Smith’s ideology in “The Wealth of Nation” and gives ideas about how using human’s selfishness to make money. The book also calls “Phishing for Phools”.


Let’s talk about Adam Smith first. His book is really realistic and it is what I believe in and the world is also tends to that way. His famous theory, “The Invisible Hand” is so true that nobody will work without good checks. I’m on the same side as Adam that the right amount of selfishness helps to push the economy system to climbing space and makes a development. However, in my opinion, no matter what you do, you can’t lose your heart. The world is full of all kinds of people but don’t let one trade destroy your reputation because reputation means honesty. If the leader of a company has no honesty no one will buy anything and it means there will be no finical source.


Speaking of honesty, the book “Phishing for Phools” gives many ways to make money by using people’s selfishness. These happened in our lives really often. Some simple examples would be like some on sale products. You think you save some money if you buy those products but don’t forget why they can cut down the prices so much. Those products don’t worth that much. Some stores write random numbers on some products that don’t worth that much and write sales prices to attract people to buy them. For me, the stores just try to satisfy people’s hearts. Who in the world will do bad bargain? Just like what Adam Smith says.


There is another theory that I really like. It’s the labor theory of value. Put in simple words, the book says that a product’s value equals to how much power of labor he can trade or buy by using his power of labor. For me, that is money comes by how much you work. You work more, you earn more. I think this theory is working really well in the U.S. because anything that labor involves, it’s really expensive. Maybe this is one of the reasons why there are so many products made in China because they can get cheaper price for the same quality. Even the products are cheap; a huge amount of buying power can cover everything.


In a conclusion, nothing now in economy can be separated by Adam Smith’s book. No one will do things with no goods. Adam Smith starts on an egoism position to complete this book and speaks the truth of our society. I can’t musing him up because there are bad things happening when people lost themselves in egos but humans are humans. I started to work online by selling shoes. I know I can sell shoes for much higher prices than now but my conscientiousness just doesn’t allow me to do that. How can shoes worth more than 500$ and people get crazy even when they are more than 2000$! Stores are selling their brands not the quality of products but people don’t care about the prices anymore because everyone is getting richer than before. I think that’s sad.
